Redeeming Adam: Reviving authentic masculinity in a passive world (young adults 18 – post college)
Every young man should ask himself: What am I aspiring to? What am I striving toward? Many young men today feel disconnected and struggle to find their calling and purpose. In an often unfriendly job market and ever evolving expectations, young men often feel like they’re not really aspiring or striving toward much of anything. Adam was originally charged with servant leadership and stewardship, which he fulfilled – for a while. Then, he lost his focus and became passive in his attitude and approach. One of the biggest issues for male culture today is not just that they are doing ‘bad’ things, but an even larger number feel as if they’re shuffling along and not proactively contributing to the world. This shows up in our leadership, sexual health, relationships, and contributions to our communities. This session will take a practical and honest look at how young men can reclaim an aspirational approach to life and see the benefits as they take ownership of their masculinity and opportunities.
Mike presented “Redeeming Adam” to Fathers & Teens sons at Higher Ground 2016. Here’s what last year’s attendees had to say:
“Mike Olson did an OUTSTANDING job with the Redeeming Adam breakout. Highly motivating. Very helpful. Very well done. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.”
“Mike was the highlight of the conference for me. Relevant content, great presentation and solid connection with dads and sons.”
“I would have gotten my teenage son up early on a Saturday, paid for the conference and driven from Gig Harbor to Bellevue just to have this session being presented to my son. Great job!”
